STAT ambulance, a quick history

     STAT is often the name to any to any one of three ambulance companies in the SouthShore area. In truth; however, there is only one real STAT company. STAT was at one point just one ambulance company located in Dartmouth MA that was sold to a woman named Carol Mansfield in 1986. Since that time she has grown it into an expansive business portfolio encompassing the original STAT, then SouthCoast EMS and more recently the sister company New England Medical Institute. STAT is the founding company that is the sole contracted private 911 provider for the town of Dartmouth Massachusetts for over 30 years now.
SouthCoast EMS is an offshoot to STAT. Some of the ambulances still read STAT SouthCoast, although a push to show the distinction between the two companies  and personal are underway in a rebranding
     Therefore many healthcare providers in the community and service area may refer to SouthCoast EMS as STAT.  SouthCoast EMS handles the companies private transfers such as interfacility transfers although it does provide backup 911 medic services to such towns as New Bedford and Fall River.
SouthCoast EMS has garages in Dartmouth, New Bedford, Fall River, and more recently Canton. From these locations SouthCoast is able to provide ambulance and wheelchair services for the majority of the SouthCoast.
Another company that is out there that is not part of the business ventures owned by Carol Mansfield is STAT Ambulance Services of New England. This company also better know as STAT New England, operates primarily out of New Bedford with a non-ambulance housed garage in Fall River.

So not going to lie, I was skep tical. EMS avoids Nursing home patients

Nursing homes transports have always been a staple of private EMS providers in Massachusetts. Now with rate cuts the lack of working EMTs (has always been an issue) and the larger companies snatching up new resource intensive contracts, the nursing homes are left out as the undesirables now. Nursing homes and skilled nursing facilities patients as well as home dialysis patients are steadily having a harder and harder time finding transportation, a sharp change that has seen large scale effects within the last few years especially. In 2018, the Bipartisan Budget Act, saw EMS companies looking for new opportunities in revenue as ESRD patient reimbursements got cut. Coronavirus vaccine in Fall River

 Monday 2/22/2021 begins the next phase for Massachusetts residents eligibility to receive the  Coronavirus vaccine. Up until this date we have been working from Governor Baker's Phase 1 vaccination rollout.  So, welcome to Phase 2.  The plan is, with the roll out, to getting the rest of the critical care workers coming face to face with the vaccine as well as those other higher at risks groups. Which places have which vaccines though? Who has the Moderna vaccine and who has the Pfizer vaccine. And more recently, who in Fall River is giving out the new one shot Johnson and Johnson coronavirus vaccine.
